On December 6, 2023, KEDA Industrial Group held the groundbreaking ceremony for its first glass production line in South America—the Peru float glass production line. This is Twyford International's first building materials project in Peru, further advancing its "Grand Building Materials Strategy".Xu Chao, General Manager of KEDA Industrial Group Peru Branch and General Manager of Sunda International Peru Branch, along with the project team, attended the ceremony.
After six months of negotiations, risk assessments, legal procedures, and site surveys, Keda (Peru) Glass Factory successfully held a signing ceremony in Lima, Peru, it laying a solid foundation for the Factory’s construction. Xu Chao and Luis Aleza, Chairman of Arona Agricultural Company, signed the land purchase agreement under the witness of legal representatives and teams from both parties, marking the beginning of KEDA Industrial Group a new journey in Peru.
The float glass factory is located in Cañete Province. The first phase includes one architectural glass production line with a expected production capacity of 600 tons per day, targeting markets in Peru and neighboring countries. The factory is expected to begin production in 2026, it will explore additional product categories based on operational performance subsequently.
According to preliminary research, Peru currently lacks of local glass production capacity. The investment of KEDA Industrial Group will replace imported products and capture a part of market. The Factory located near by the Pan-American Highway ensures convenient transportation, while abundant water, fuel, and raw material resources satisfed production needs.
The groundbreaking ceremony concluded with attendees emphasizing that the Keda (Peru) Glass Factory will inject fresh momentum into the local economy and lay a solid foundation for the rise of South America’s glass industry.
The commencement of the Keda (Peru) Glass Factory stands as another testament to the company’s global innovation and growth. As the factory develops, it is poised to set new benchmarks for Peru’s glass industry and contribute to Keda’s "Grand Building Materials Strategy".
